ABOUT JUDY COX

Judy Cox’s paintings are minimal, yet energetic. Fields of color are composed of fluttering brushstrokes, while decisive marks construct depth and movement in the composition. Her curiously personal titles invite the viewer to consider what they see in the work and how their mind deciphers the line, color, and form of each painting. Her paintings present themselves to her as she works, beginning with no preconceived notions of what she will paint.

Cox received her BA in Studio Arts from the University of Maryland and has exhibited her work across the United States.
